Whimsical Wednesday Challenge #17 - Sense Of Humor

Click HERE for the Birthday Sundaes Cakes & Cupcakes Blog Hop

Hello!  It's the first Wednesday of the month which means we have a new Scrapbook challenge for you at Whimsical Wednesday.  Our new challenge is "Sense Of Humor" Your scrapbook page must include something funny (photos, images) and or include words that relate to humor such as: laugh, giggle, chuckle, funny, hysterical.  Sounds like fun!  I'm sorry, but I didn't even think I would have a layout to share today but I managed to throw together something to share with you at the 11th hour...hehe, I think we all know how that goes!  Here is my layout using some funny pictures of my Oldest E.

She received this name at a very young age.  These are the kinds of get-ups I would find her in when I would check in on her during her naptime!  That is pink permanent marker all over her face in the bottom picture!  Not funny at the moment it happened but I snapped a picture at the time thinking it would be a great (and funny) reminder for her later in life!

I grabbed this cute paper from my stash and threw the pictures on with very little detail and layout done for today!

Stop by Whimsical Wednesday and make sure you go see all the amazing examples from the very talented Design Team!  I hope you'll play along with us and our "Sense of Humor" scrapbook challenge!  I can't wait to see the funny pictures you share!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Sprinkler Fun Under the Sun LO

I was thrilled to get the chance to make a layout for a few challenges today.  Cooking with Cricut is a color challenge in honor of National Gingersnap Day!  I chose to use the colors Tangerine, Yellow, Green, Kraft, White and a few others in between!  Throwback Thursday is also a color challenge this week.  The challenge is to use an old cart on any project of your choice and incorporate the colors Yellow and Green somewhere in the project!  Many of you asked for me to do more layouts so that is what I am sharing today!

Not as detailed as my Pool Party LO but I do love these colors together!  I used my Gypsy to weld the title together and tilt the letters in different directions!

I also managed to do some sewing on this one!

I added some buttons with Lemon Drop and Mandarin flavored (ok colored) baker's twine.

For my "Old" cartridges, I used Cuttin Up for the font and Everyday Paper Dolls for the sun.  I outlined the Cricut cuts with a black pen to make them stand out.

It's A Zoo in Here LO

More than Favors Wacky Wednesday #28 Challenge is Zoo Theme!  I thought this would be a fun way to use up some scraps from my 3 year old's second birthday scrapbook.  She had a jungle party and I had made her an 8x8 book.  I couldn't find the 8x8 jungle pad when I made her book so I had to buy it in 12x12.  This left me with a lot of large scraps!  I saw this as a perfect opportunity to follow Sonia's Challenge to use my scraps up over the next 2 months.  Here is my new Zoo LO made with mostly all leftover treasures from the Jungle scrapbook!  Isn't recycling great!

Products Used:
  • Scrap Pile Paper (everything but the blue background which is Bazzill)
  • Leftover brads and stickers are most likely Sandylion
  • Zooballoo Cricut Cartridge (Monkey)
  • Animal Kingdom Cricut Cart (Hippo)
  • Create A Critter Cricut Cart (Alligator)
  • Sugar and Spice Cricut Cart (Elephant)
  • Paper Dolls for Everyday Cricut Cart (Zoo entrance and fence)

Super Quick Valentine's Day Pages

I've spent a lot of time wrapping shoe boxes today but I did take 30 mins to sit down and scrap a few Valentine's Day Pages.
***You cannot see the "Kiss Blow" of stickles too well in this pic but that is ok because I accidentally stuck my arm in it while I was stitching the heart.  My trick for when this happens (because it happens a lot to me), I grab my Pampered Chef Nylon Pan Scraper and scrape it off quick.  It usually works if the stickles havn't dried but it was on the picture this time and left a little bit of a smudge.***

These are all last years Valentine's Day Pics.  We are truly blessed to have a wonderfully talented Preschool teacher.  Not only is she wonderful with the children, she is also a photographer!!  She takes pics of the kiddos every holiday, during fun events/field trips and just doing everyday tasks with them!  She is a scrapbookers dream!!  We absolutely love her!  We often joke that if my family keeps having kids, she can keep ME for a pretty long time.  This is our 3rd year there and as it stands right now, I will have a kid enrolled every year until 2016.  She loves all the crafty ideas I bring to the classroom and I love her pictures.  I think I am making out better on the deal because I get a really good excuse to spend the day crafting and I also get really awesome pictures!!  (For my local friends and family-please call me if you are looking for a photographer for any event or family pictures.  She does fabulous work)
I am submitting these pages for Die Cuttin Divas "Love is in the air" Challenge

Parade Creatures

For this past years Halloween Parade, the girl's Preschool Float theme was "God Loves all the Little Creatures of the World".  Of course I was excited to volunteer to make little Creatures for the float!  At first I was going to use Create a Critter but then I decided these little creatures needed to look like the kids, so I got to work cutting all these little guys out from Paper Dolls Dress Up.   I finally opened my 12x24 paper for this project.  It was hard to use it but it was starting to collect dust, so it was time!  The little kids were cut using white CS and I had the preschool kids color them with skin tones.  They had fun and it gave them a chance to participate in the decorations!

These two were cut using other cartridges and my Gypsy (my first project using my Gypsy).   They ended up being my favorite!   I just loved their google eyes!  You can see the twist ties we used to adhere them to the float sticking up from the tops of their heads.

Then since it was a Halloween Parade, and I knew there would be all kinds of costumes, I decided we needed to represent them too.  I used my girl's Laminated Paper Dolls for the school banners.  I think everyone really enjoyed all the "Little Creatures"!
