Made for Mom Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Made for Mom Blog Hop hosted by the talented Jenny at Crazy about Cricut and the fabulous Thankful Thursday Design Team!  Mother's Day is around the corner and so we are busy making gifts for those very special women in our lives!!  If you just came from Jenny's blog, then you are heading in the right direction!  If you are just stopping by to say hi today (thanks), make sure you hop on over to Crazy About Cricut to start from the beginning!  There are going to be so many great Mommy's Day ideas that you are not going to want to miss!

This month we were asked to share any present from our kids, or what we give to our Mom's for Mother's Day.  I have a super cute project my girls have been wanting to make for some time!  They wanted to make one to give to their grandmother for Mother's Day and even though she helped us create them, she doesn't know it is for her yet!!  We already know she LOVES it!

We made Fairy/Butterfly Gardens!  Isn't it cute?

Much of what we used was re-purposed material making these perfect projects to make during Earth Day weekend!  We started with these big snack barrels which I've been saving all year at the preschool for a project like this!  They are made with very heavy, recycled plastic which made for the a great planting container.

After the first one, we found it was easier to drill holes in the bottoms for the water when they are not cut apart.  We put Daddy in charge of this job making it a true family affair!

The girls went around the yard collecting little things to decorate their gardens.

You can see all the bits and pieces they collected.  The decorative stones also line the bottom of the container.  They were from our wedding reception.  I was glad to finally find a use for some of them!

This element was one of the girls favorites!  They said the fairies needed a table so an upturned tea cup and saucer did the trick!

Here are the girls showing off their fine work!  This was there trial garden and they are going to be making more of them today with their friends!

Now, what Mother/Grandmother wouldn't love one of these adorable little gardens?  I'm sure their grandmother is going to LOVE placing this at her house although I don't know if she is going to be able to wait until Mother's Day to get it...hehe!

Thank you so much for hopping with us today!  I hope this inspired a fun project for you and/or your kiddos!  Now, hop on to your next stop, one of our talented guest designers...

My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #50 - Easter Projects

Goodmorning!  What did everyone think of the Stamp Release Party last week?  My mind is still cranking with all these new ideas.  Well, it is time for another Monday Challenge at My Craft Spot!  We want to see all your Easter projects this week!  Here is my inspiration for you!

My daughter and I made these cute little pencil toppers for her classmates.

I stamped this fun sentiment from the new MCS Happy Easter stamp set.  I cut it out with an oval spellbinders to look like an egg, added some white glossy accents, bubblegum crinkle ribbon and Cotton Candy Divine.  We added it to a little pink bucket and filled in with the pencils.

The bunnies are cut from Create A Critter, outlined, inked with a PKS Critter Face, and blushed up!

The pinwheels are created from MME Happy Go Lucky pattern paper.

We just cut a 3" x 3" piece of paper, cut a 1" slit at each corner, folded toward the center and held them down with brads.

A little close up of the details.

My daughter is thrilled with how they turned out and is excited to take her buckets to her class.

The design team have created some amazing projects so stop by My Craft Spot this week for more Easter inspiration!  Thanks for stopping by today!
