My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #62 - 4th of July and Canada Day

Good Morning Everyone!  To all my Canadian friends, I hope you had a happy and safe Canada Day  and to my friends here in the USA, Happy 4th of July this week!!  This week we are celebrating the fine countries we live in!  Our Monday Challenge this week is 4th of July and Canada Day!  Here is my 4th of July card.

I was looking for a fun sparkler to cut with my Cricut but decided to make my own out of Crinkle Ribbon instead!  I love how it turned out!

I even got some good use out of my Christmas stamps for this card! The sentiment on the star comes from My Craft Spot's Merry Christmas set and the stars stamped on the base of the card come from My Craft Spot's 'Tis the Season stamp set.   I cut the star from Plantin School Book cart and addded some doodling around it.

I found a scrap of shimmer paper for the background and embossed it with a stars folder then sewed it on.  The sparkler was created with a stick by tying three bows using Cranberry, Snow White and Navy Blue Crinkle Ribbon and a bow with Airmail Divine Twine all available at My Craft Spot (except the stick which came from my yard).

Make sure you stop by and check out the rest of the AMAZING Canada Day and 4th of July projects at My Craft Spot this week and share your projects with us for your chance to win a fabulous prize!  Speaking of fabulous prizes, don't forget to mark your calendars!  You are invited to the Stamp Release Party coming up next week at My Craft Spot! There will be amazing projects each day and fun prizes all week long! We will be ending the week with a Blog Hop on Saturday and the full release of the stamp sets. Mark your calenders and come join us for some fun!  Thanks for stopping by today!

My Craft Spot Anything Goes Challenge

Good Morning Everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  We spent the weekend scrapping and relaxing here!  I spent the previous weekend at my annual crop with a group of very talented friends!  It is always an enjoyable trip and a great way to kick start the New Year in a scrappy way!!  We spend the entire weekend scrapbooking, chatting and eating at a B&B!  No cleaning, no cooking and no crying kids (or husbands)!  You can't get any better than that...haha!
Anyway, we have a fun new challenge this week at My Craft Spot!  It is everyones favorite, Anything Goes...YAY!  I thought I would share one of the pages I made on my trip for your Anything Goes inspiration!  It is a warm change from all the winter/valentines projects lately!

This picture is one of my favs from our trip to the Zoo this past summer.  I used the January Artful Delight's sketch for inspiration on this LO.  I was going to play along with that challenge but I did not get it entered in time!

The paper is Bo Bunny and cardstock is from SU!  I used bright colored My Craft Spot Crinkle Ribbon for an accent on the Title block!

I doodled all around the the blocks with my Journaler pen and added a banner with some Bakers Twine from My Craft Spot and scraps of Bo Bunny Double Dot!  I love how bright and cheerful this LO turned out!

Please stop by My Craft Spot and check out the rest of the amazing projects the Design Team created and play along with our Anything Goes challenge this week!  Don't forget that the Design Team is taking turns sharing their projects using the new My Craft Spot stamp sets for a few more weeks!  There are chances to win, so be sure to stop by and check them out!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Knoebels Scrapbook

I love when I can get myself motivated to get a group of pages done.  This was one kit, in one week, one trip scrapbooked with the inspiration from one sketch!  The kit and sketch are both from Artful Delights!  So exciting to have it done!  Now I can move onto our trip there in 2008!  Maybe by the end of the year, I'll be able to scrapbook our trip from this year..hehe!  We'll see!  I don't want to get too carried away!  This is Oldest E's first trip to Knoebels Amusement Park.

They are in the order they'll be in the book.  I have an entire scrapbook with plans for pages from every year we go to this park!  So far there is a 2006 trip, part of a 2009 trip and now this one!  Besides a few of the page bases, most of what you see is from the July Artful Delights kit.  I have a few scraps left to make a some cards and there are 3 sheets of whole paper which will be hoarded...hehe!  OK, maybe I'll use them!  I'm trying not to hoard my paper so much anymore!  I am linking up the first page to Artful Delights July sketch challenge.  Thanks for the inspiration!  They went together so easily.  If I had known kits made it this easy, I would have been buying them a long time ago!  The last page for this trip (and my favorite) can be seen HERE!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Park Ranger Thank You

It's been a busy scrapping day in our house.  I'll have several projects to show you by time the night is done!  I think when I have a bad week, I get all my frustration out by papercrafting!  It is great therapy!  At Fantabulous Cricut they are having a Camping Challenge this week.  My camping LO went in another direction but I did get a campy card made today.  Here is the first card I wanted to share with you tonight.

It is for our friend who happens to be a Park Ranger at one of the local State Parks that we visit regularly during the summer.  He is always helping us out and we wanted him to know how much it is appreciated!

My mom just bought Camping Critters this week so until she gets the Cricut I got her for Christmas out of the box, I have custody of the cart..hehe!  I used it for the entire card, base and all!   I am having a blast with this cart!

My First Trip LO

***Click HERE for Whimsical Wednesday Interactive Fun or Scroll Down (this LO is going in the same scrapbook)***

I was a busy scrapbooker this weekend.  I have been having so much fun with my Artful Delights July Kit.  Here is another layout that I wanted to share today for the same trip as posted earlier today using the same kit and the same sketch!

I really like the way this one and the Interactive Fun LO look together in my Oldest E's scrapbook!  I flipped the sketch with this one.  I hope that is permitted.

Here is what the sketch looks like

All of the embellies come from the kit (even the journal tag not shown here...it is the cardboard from the box the kit came in sprayed with the Maya Mist)!  The only item not from the kit is my Crumb Cake background paper which is SU!

I have continued scrapping this trip with these papers/sketch.  They have gone together so quickly, that I'm sure I'll have most of the pics from the trip scrapbooked by the end of the week (How exciting is that...a 2007 trip finally done...hehe)!  Let me know if you want to see more of these pages, otherwise, I'll spare you from having to see them all!  I haven't decided yet, but this one may be the one that I link up for the Artful Delights July Sketch Challenge.   Thanks for the fun inspiration and thanks for stopping by!

Get Whale Wishes for Angelo

The challenge is still open for another 2 days to make Get Well cards for little Angelo.  If you missed it, the Whimsical Wednesday Design Team had created cards for Angelo, who is the 15 month old grandson of fellow blogger Margie, from Bella Bug CreationsAngelo recently underwent brain surgery and is going through chemotherapy.   We are trying to bring some cheer to him and his family. The day I saw this challenge, I knew I wanted to be a part of this!  As, a mother, I couldn't even imagine going through what they as a family are going through right now.  I give thanks that my children have been blessed with good health.  My hope is that my card can bring at least a small amount of joy to him and his family.  Here is what I created.

I wanted to make something bright and cheerful for little Angelo!  Something that will catch his eye and something that is always smiling at him!

There are several layers stacked full of fun sea animals!  I almost added some more elements but then I remembered Angelo is only 15 months old and I didn't want anything on there that he could choke on.

The inspiration for this fun card came from my good friend Dr. Sonia at Cards, Crafts and Kids Projects!   My girls have been wanting to make a tunnel card just like Sonia and her dear little assistant's card!  They were too busy to help with it today so I decided that I would try to make a different card inspired by her tunnel card.   Her card is much more elaborate and the card the girls & I are making together follow her wonderful step-by-step tutorial!  Thank you for the beautiful idea Sonia!  I'm glad I could use this idea for this very special project!

Thankful Thursday All-American Blog Hop

Hello Everyone and Welcome to your last stop on the
 Thankful Thursday All-American Blog Hop
We are celebrating the All-American Summer with 4th of July, BBQs, and so much more!  There are fun projects and blog candy to be won along the way so please hop along with us!  If you hopped here from Leah's blog Leah's Card Designs then you are heading in the right direction! ***Leah must still be having blogger problems today so if you came from the talented Ruby Rose then you are still in the right place, stop back later to see Leah's fun project***  Aren't my fellow teammates amazing!!  If you just happened to stop by to see me today (thanks), you'll want to start at the beginning of the hop with Jenny at Crazy About Cricut!  So, enough chitty chat...on with my project!

Since I've been posting 4th of July projects all week and our Hop theme was "4th of July, BBQs and more", I thought I would mix it up a bit and create a project that falls into the "and more" category!  I made an All-American Summer Vacation layout!

This year our All-American Summer Vacation means heading to the Jersey Shore!

I'm really excited because we haven't even made it to the beach yet and I already have some LOs ready for pics (which I'm sure there will be a ton of pics)!

I used the Imaginisce Splash Dance paper line for my LO.  The title is cut from Life's A Beach and I added a few buttons tied with colorful Bakers Twine from My Craft Spot!

This adorable Jellyfish guy was cut from Once Upon A Princess (are you wondering where the jellyfish is on that cart???).  It is a cupcake top that my Oldest E stretched with the gypsy, cut, added some google eyes and drew a cute little face on him!

We added some Pink Sorbet Bakers Twine and I tacked it down in the swirly design with Tombo Multipurpose Liquid Glue (just little dabs, a small amount goes a long way).

I was a little sad that some of the original chipboard stickers disappeared from my LO.  I am guessing since neither of the girls would confess and/or rat the other out, that they must have been partners in crime!  There was an adorable chipboard crabby here but since I have not found his new hiding spot, I had to use some of the puffy stickers.  Still cute, just not as cute as the original element!

Again, I had a really cute school of fish up in this corner which magically disappeared!  Lesson learned, take a pic immediately upon finishing a LO so my little scavengers do not have time to snatch the goods...hehe!

While we worked on the LO, the girls and I talked about the beach, and they drew me pictures of what they think our All-American Beach Vacation will be like!

We added their pics to the LO until I have the real ones to put on there!  I know it will look a lot better with the real pictures but any Mommy knows that these pictures tell a story just like the real ones will!

OK, so who wants some BLOG CANDY?  Today I have something fun for you!  I have a 30 yard spool of Black Licorice Baker's Twine from My Craft Spot, a set of Imaginisce Splash Dance Rub-Ons, and a Stampin' Up Stamp Set!
