End of the School Year Teacher Appreciation Gifts

Good morning!  I wanted to share some of the fun End of Year gifties that we made for my daughters teachers.  She just completed Kindergarten and I can't believe how quickly the year passed!  She was inspired every step of the way so we wanted to make sure to show all her teachers the appreciation they deserve!  My daughter and I starting by looking on Pinterest for some ideas (yes that site is sooooo addicting...hehe)!  She picked out several of the projects she wanted to make from there!

First are the gifts she made for her Art and Gym teachers.  They both love sewing so she picked out little sewing baskets for them!   The awesome tutorial for these cuties came from the little blue room!

The card for her Art Teacher was cut from the Locker Talk Cricut Cart and stamped with a sentiment from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags Stamp Set.  The soccer ball card for her Gym Teacher is cut from Life is A Party cart.

Next is the gift for her Music teacher.  He was the hardest to find a craft for.  We ended up coming up with our own gift for him.
We made him some page clips with music notes on them.  She made these mostly by herself.  The scallop circles are punched out with SU punches and I'm not sure which cricut cart the music notes came from.  She found them on the Gypsy.

She had fun working on her gifts for the librarians!  She LOVES the little bookworm so naturally she wanted him on their cards!  She made them little 3x3 note cards because she said they like to write notes : )  The sentiment for these comes from My Craft Spot's Sweet Sentiments Set #1.

She also wanted to make sure she had something special for each one of her classmates!  She LOVES reading so she wanted to make sure to make something each of her friends could use for their Summer Reading, so bookmarks it was!

Their class are know as the T-Birds and being a T-Bird is A BIG DEAL!!   We used the little birdy from Four Legged Friends and welded it to a bookmark from Animal Kingdom.  Then we added the lettering and laminated them so they would last longer.  She kids thought they were so cool and even her teacher asked for a few extras for his special stash!

Our last gift to share is the one she made for her homeroom teacher.  He is an absolutely AMAZING Kindergarten Teacher and such a caring person!  He is hard to make gifts for but the second she found this one Pinterest, she knew she wanted to make it for him.
The tut for this one can be found HERE.  We revamped a little to be fitting for him.  He is a big environmentalist so recycling is part of everything they do in the classroom.  We used as many recycled items as we could.  The container is one that can be re-used in the classroom.  Instead of floral foam, we used the packaging from the markers to stick the markers to and the grass is cut up newspaper.  Even the flowers were punched from my cardstock scrap pile!  She made a fingerprint card and wrote inside "Thank you for helping me grow this year!  I will miss you!"

We had so much fun making these projects together!  She was so proud of each of her little gifts and each of her teachers enjoyed them.  We hope you found some crafty inspiration!  Thanks for stopping by to check them out!

Thankful Thursday Monsters Mash Challenge

Hello Everyone!  Sorry I'm posting late today!  This week we have a super fun challenge at Thankful Thursday for all your little (or big) monsters!  It is our Monster Mash challenge and we want to see you making a project with a monster on it for/with your little or big monsters!  Here is our project!

My older girls like to call their little sister "Baby Monster" because she likes to destroy things!  Even our preschool class calls her Baby Monster because she likes to make a mess at the school then they have to clean it up!!

Oldest E wanted to make something for Baby Monster but unfortunately everyone came down with the flu in our house.  I threw this together yesterday while everyone was sleeping.  We were sad we couldn't make something together but everyone was happy with the end product!

I needed some inspiration, so I attempted to use the October Sketch from Artful Delights (ASC #13).    All the paper and monsters are from My Little Shoebox's Imaginary Friends line.  The rest of the Thankful Thursday Design Team have come up with some amazing Monster Mash projects!  Please join us at Crazy About Cricut for our fun Monster challenge!

You Make Me Smile Card

***Scroll Down for Birthday Sundaes #5***
I couldn't sleep tonight so I thought I would put together a quick card for a few challenges.  Do you remember how happy your first bike made you when you were little?  I do, and that was the inspiration for my card tonight!  My oldest daughter got her first bike for Easter several years ago.  She squealed with excitement so I thought this would be a fitting card for Easter or Springtime!
For this card, I needed to add a border, so I used my sewing machine with the thread pulled out to make a nice, even stitch around the edges.   I am also having so much fun playing with my new stamps and ribbon from My Craft Spot!  I am loving this soft Hand Dyed Crinkle Ribbon!  It ties so easily and nicely!

Camping Trip LO

Today the girls and I worked on a quick camping layout.  My kids love looking at past photos and today we picked out a camping trip to scrapbook.  There a lot of trips to choose from and we decided on my oldest E's 1st camping trip.  It was cute because my middle E kept looking at the pics and asking "where me in this picture" and then we have to go through the whole explanation that God didn't give her to us until after this trip and the questions go on and on!  Anyway, I wanted to make a special LO just for the Crazy about Cricut challenge to create a project specifically for the challenge about something you love.  I love crafting (and would like to win the cart) but I, or I should say we, really LOVE camping.

Like my tent?  I had to give it tent stakes because when I think of camping I remember that I always stub my toes on those darn things!   Another funny part of this LO is that I have a camper and a tent on there but we were cheaters this trip and stayed in a cabin...hehe!

This LO doesn't look that great in the pictures.  I should have taken more close up pics but my camera battery (which baby E took the other day and I just found it) was dead!  I promise this LO looks a lot better in person!

Products Used:
  • Cosmo Cricket S'more Mr. Campy Paper
  • Stampin' Up! CS, Buttons, Ink (sponging)
  • Summer Vacation Cricut Cartridge
  • Brads and Twine from Michael's
Thanks for stopping by today!

Snappy Birthday LO

I couldn't sleep tonight so I thought I would throw together a quick LO for a few challenges using my Imagine!

Now I have no clue why I did another page for my Middle E's 3rd Birthday.  I already completed an entire scrapbook for that birthday (Click Here and scroll to the end of this post if you would like to see it)!  I started with a sketch for the PKS challenge but I strayed from it!  Oh well!  You can never have to many scrapbook pages..hehe!

I used the Hopscotch Imagine cart and Life's A Beach for most of the LO.  I did pull a few pieces from my scrap pile.  For some reason, I have double the amount of blue scraps than any other color so I felt the need to use some of them for the water!

I printed this cute little guy out using Hopscotch but I didn't think he popped enough.  I decided to heat emboss him with Red Craft Ink and Clear Embossing Powder.  I wish you could see it better in the pic but I love the way he turned out!  I stamped a My Pink Stamper Stamp on a label because I thought it was a cute addition!

The title is all printed and cut using the Hopscotch Cart and the banner is from a leftover scrap piece from the LO.  I'm still trying to use my scraps up for Sonia's challenge at Scraps 4 Fun!  I've been putting a pretty good dent in the pile.  Sometime this week I will tally up how many projects I've done so far with them!

Now doesn't this palm tree make you want to pack your bags and head for the Beach!  After spending a few days this past week at the Great Wolf Lodge and Indoor Waterpark, it makes me want to head for the beach!!  I am ready for the warmer weather!  I actually had my Imagine and Expression both going at the same time for this tree!  The palms and sand are printed using patterns from the Imagine More Cards cart and the trunk was cut from scraps using the E!  I also gave my dear sewing machine some attention for this LO!

Challenges:
Scraps 4 Fun Use Your Scraps
Simply Sunday Challenge Pack Your Bags (I would love to head for the Beach...the Lake would do too!!)
Challenge Me Monday #52 Happy Birthday (Happy Birthday Robin and FCCB)
GAB Challenge #8 Your Favorite Technique (Embossing wet and dry for me!!)

Thanks for stopping by!

PS...Can you see my gadgets?  If I view a single post they are there but when I view my whole blog they are gone.  I haven't changed anything and it shows up fine when I go to my Design Page.  Where did they go?  Maybe it is a glitch with Blogger tonight.  I'll play with it later!  Thanks!  ***FIXED IT AND I REDESIGNED MY BLOG WHILE I WAS AT IT!  THANKS FOR YOUR HELP TO EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED!!!***

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #4

I am sooooo excited today!  Do you know why?  That's right, it is my very first Design Team Day at Celebrate the Occasion!  Even though I was quite sick last week, I still made something very special for the occasion!  I could not make it to the craft store so I was limited to what I had on hand (although my mother-in-law did stop by ACMoore to pick up some shamrock pattern paper for me...thanks Mom)!
Challenge #4 for Celebrate the Occasion is St. Patrick's Day and the Design Team has some inspirational projects for you!  I created a 2 page layout for the occasion.
I used my sewing machine to stitch the shamrock paper as well as the photo mats.  I embossed with Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder on the photo mats and added a strip of green glitter ribbon to tuck my pics under.

I welded a bunch of clovers from Paper Dolls Dress Up together with my Gypsy to get a clover field for this cute little Leprechaun(Simply Charmed) to dance in. I sponged all the clovers and added some on top of the welded image with different brand dimensionals to get several different layers of clovers.

Now for the bright rainbow, this element did take some thought.  There is not a rainbow on any of the Cricut cartridges that stretches well across a 2 page LO so I needed to make my own rainbow.  At first, I was going to use buttons, but I did not have enough colors on hand.  I needed to find something (beside paper) that I have a lot of and in several colors.  What did I find....RIBBON!!!!  I ran my tape runner across the entire length of the ribbon then carefully layed it out.  I really like the way it turned out!

The pot of gold is from one of my new favorite carts, Simply Charmed!  I wanted to give it a full look so I layered it.

and for the Gold inside the pot, I cut the background out with gold paper, sponged it then adhered the top layer and stickled the edges!

Products Used:
  • Stampin' Up! Solid Cardstock
  • Recollections Gold Paper
  • Karen Foster Design Pot O Gold Collage Paper
  • Paper Dolls Dress Up Cricut Cartridge (Shamrocks)
  • Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge (Leprechaun and Pot of Gold)
  • Country Life Cricut Cartridge (Title)
  • Divine Swirls Cuttlebug Folder
  • Michael's Ribbon
  • Stampin' Up! Ink
  • Gold Stickles

I did not make it out of the house to print my pictures but here are Mommy's Leprechauns.

Thanks for stopping by to see my first DT project!  I hope you like it!  Stop by Celebrate the Occasion and check out all the other fabulous Design Team projects and be sure to link up your St. Patty's Day project!

It's A Zoo in Here LO

More than Favors Wacky Wednesday #28 Challenge is Zoo Theme!  I thought this would be a fun way to use up some scraps from my 3 year old's second birthday scrapbook.  She had a jungle party and I had made her an 8x8 book.  I couldn't find the 8x8 jungle pad when I made her book so I had to buy it in 12x12.  This left me with a lot of large scraps!  I saw this as a perfect opportunity to follow Sonia's Challenge to use my scraps up over the next 2 months.  Here is my new Zoo LO made with mostly all leftover treasures from the Jungle scrapbook!  Isn't recycling great!

Products Used:
  • Scrap Pile Paper (everything but the blue background which is Bazzill)
  • Leftover brads and stickers are most likely Sandylion

Scraps 4 Fun Challenge

Sonia at Scraps 4 Fun is having a fabulous challenge!  She is challenging everyone, as well as herself, to organize those scrap piles and use them up over the next 2 months!!!  Wow, I know I have some forgotten treasures in those piles!  Stop by Scraps 4 Fun to see how you can get started with the challenge!

Here are my scraps.

I got busy on my piles by scraping a few LOs!  I started by pulling out the newest and largest pieces in my stash as well as the cricut images that never worked out.  Here is what I came up with today.

(I know this Sketch was a challenge I found last weekend before I got sick.  The doodle was sitting on my desk so I went with it.  I don't remember which challenge blog it is for or if it is still going on.  If you recognize it, please let me know.)

Here is what my trash looked like when I was done!  I need to stop keeping some of the itty bitty pieces!  I just can't help it!  I must admit that my Cricut did feel a little left out of the fun challenge.  I only used him for titles today.

Now that I am feeling a little better, I will be working from my scraps for some challenges this week.  Over the next two months, we'll see what I have left!  Thanks for the fun challenge Sonia!
