Birthday Sundaes Ch #23 - Color Challenge

Hello Everyone!  It is Sunday and time for another fun Birthday Sundaes challenge!   This month we have so many fun challenges for you!   Since it is Kristie's birthday month, she based all the challenges around her favorite things!  Happy Birthday Kristie!  The DT is having so much fun creating birthday cards for your inspiration with these themes.  This week we have a fun color challenge for you!  The colors are Pink, Green and White only Birthday Card (it is ok to use some other neutrals but only as needed)!  Here is my birthday card!

When I hear pink I think either Hello Kitty or Fairies.  Fairies got the pick this week!  I used Once Upon a Princess for the cute little party fairy and for the frame.

I added a lot of bling, sparkle and shine to this little cutie.  The wings were glittered using SU Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  I added liquid pearl to the eyes and Stickles to the cheeks/lips.
DT member Samantha does amazing work with liquid pearls!  Her cards are gorgeous so I really wanted to try it out on the border.  I'm going to need a lot more practice!

I hope you'll join us this week at Birthday Sundaes for our Pink, Green and White Birthday Card challenge!  DT Member Sue is offering a set of Large Oval Scallops Nestabilities as our prize this week. Thank you Sue!  Please make sure to check out our guest designer and the rest of the DT Birthday Cards this week!  They really are an amazing and sweet group of ladies!!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Birthday Sundaes Cakes and Cupcakes Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our first ever Birthday Sundaes Blog Hop!

Our first term is coming to an end and we want to say thank you  to everyone who has made Birthday Sundaes a success with a big celebration!  We are saying goodbye to a few of our current talented Design Team members today and hello to a new group of amazing cardmakers.  To kick off the celebrations, we have all made Birthday Cards with Cakes and Cupcakes for you to feast your eyes on!  What better way to say hello and goodbye!

If you have come here today from Michelle at My Passion for Crafting, then you are heading in the right direction!  If you just stopped by to see me today (thanks), you'll want to hop back over to the Birthday Sundaes Challenge Blog and start from the beginning!  Believe me, you are not going to want to miss out on one stop of this delicious hop!

My Birthday Card is a very special one!  My Middle E is celebrating her 4th Birthday this week!  She loves chocolate cupcakes and the color purple, so this is the special card I made just for her!

I'm pretty sure she is going to love it!  Here are the details...

I made my background paper by punching circles (1", 3/4", 1/2") in three different colors of purple.  I adhered them to my background cardstock and dry embossed it with Tim Holtz Retro Circles folder!  Then I used my machine to sew around the border.  I love how it turned out!

All the sentiments are My Craft Spot Inside & Out Set #2.  I absolutely LOVE the "Eat Cake!" sentiment!  I would love to eat cake everyday...hehe!

Here is a close up of the delicious cupcake which is from Once Upon a Princess.  I added Martha Stewart Tinsel Glitter to add a yummy sparkle to the frosting!

Here is a view of the dimension on the cupcake!

The inside sentiment also comes from My Craft Spot Inside & Out Set #2. Speaking of this stamp set, who wants some blog candy??  I am giving away this stamp set to one lucky winner!

Thankful Thursday Summer Movie Theme

Hello Everyone!  Today is my kids favorite post day of the week!  It's Thankful Thursday today and the Design Team at Crazy About Cricut has created some amazing and fun projects to celebrate Family Movie Night!  Our challenge this week is Summer Movie!  So what is your families favorite movie!  Our all-time favorite movie in our house is the Wizard of Oz!  My longtime followers know that Oldest E had a Wizard of Oz Dress-up Birthday Party this year!  Even the adults got in on the fun!  So for our project this week, my girls wanted to make a tunnel card just like they had seen Dr. Sonia and her little assistant make at Cards, Crafts and Kids Projects!  Here is what our Wizard of Oz tunnel card looks like!

My dear friend Sonia has a wonderful tutorial on how to make this creation HERE!   Her and her little assistant's card is much more detailed!  You must check it out!  Let me show you our fun in making this!

We started with these frames.  I used my Gypsy to cut rectangles with frames from Once Upon a Princess.  The little Wizard of Oz die-cuts are from my LSS and are made by Paper House Productions.

Here is Oldest E working on coloring her frames...

....and Middle E working on hers!

Outer frame - Oldest E used the Wizard of Oz Die Cuts and some Wizard of Oz Chipboard stickers to create her scene then faux stitched her border....

Next frame she gave the Scarecrow a cornfield to stand in....

Next, Oldest E gave the Tin Man some apple trees....

and the Cowardly Lion got a forest (she wanted to do lions, and tigers and bears but couldn't fit them on the frame)....

Middle E did the Wicked Witch and her flying Monkey!  She is obsessed with the witch!
After all the frames were done, we stacked them on top of each other and Oldest E added a few more of the chipboard stickers that went with the characters.  When they went for their naps, I followed Dr. Sonia's tutorial (See HERE - thank you Sonia) to build the tunnel card!  Below is the finished card at different angles!

Here are the girls after their nap.  The were admiring their work and absolutely thrilled with how it turned out!

I hope you'll join us at Crazy About Cricut for our Thankful Thursday this week!  I can't wait to see the Summer Family Movie projects you create with your kids or loved ones!  If you are not familar with our challenge and the rules, please check it out at Crazy About Cricut!  Below is the wonderful prize pack sponsored by our friends at Post-It that you could win for crafting with your family this month!  There is also a chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate for Pink By Design but you must stop by to see how you can win!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Get Whale Wishes for Angelo

The challenge is still open for another 2 days to make Get Well cards for little Angelo.  If you missed it, the Whimsical Wednesday Design Team had created cards for Angelo, who is the 15 month old grandson of fellow blogger Margie, from Bella Bug CreationsAngelo recently underwent brain surgery and is going through chemotherapy.   We are trying to bring some cheer to him and his family. The day I saw this challenge, I knew I wanted to be a part of this!  As, a mother, I couldn't even imagine going through what they as a family are going through right now.  I give thanks that my children have been blessed with good health.  My hope is that my card can bring at least a small amount of joy to him and his family.  Here is what I created.

I wanted to make something bright and cheerful for little Angelo!  Something that will catch his eye and something that is always smiling at him!

There are several layers stacked full of fun sea animals!  I almost added some more elements but then I remembered Angelo is only 15 months old and I didn't want anything on there that he could choke on.

The inspiration for this fun card came from my good friend Dr. Sonia at Cards, Crafts and Kids Projects!   My girls have been wanting to make a tunnel card just like Sonia and her dear little assistant's card!  They were too busy to help with it today so I decided that I would try to make a different card inspired by her tunnel card.   Her card is much more elaborate and the card the girls & I are making together follow her wonderful step-by-step tutorial!  Thank you for the beautiful idea Sonia!  I'm glad I could use this idea for this very special project!

Thankful Thursday All-American Blog Hop

Hello Everyone and Welcome to your last stop on the
 Thankful Thursday All-American Blog Hop
We are celebrating the All-American Summer with 4th of July, BBQs, and so much more!  There are fun projects and blog candy to be won along the way so please hop along with us!  If you hopped here from Leah's blog Leah's Card Designs then you are heading in the right direction! ***Leah must still be having blogger problems today so if you came from the talented Ruby Rose then you are still in the right place, stop back later to see Leah's fun project***  Aren't my fellow teammates amazing!!  If you just happened to stop by to see me today (thanks), you'll want to start at the beginning of the hop with Jenny at Crazy About Cricut!  So, enough chitty chat...on with my project!

Since I've been posting 4th of July projects all week and our Hop theme was "4th of July, BBQs and more", I thought I would mix it up a bit and create a project that falls into the "and more" category!  I made an All-American Summer Vacation layout!

This year our All-American Summer Vacation means heading to the Jersey Shore!

I'm really excited because we haven't even made it to the beach yet and I already have some LOs ready for pics (which I'm sure there will be a ton of pics)!

I used the Imaginisce Splash Dance paper line for my LO.  The title is cut from Life's A Beach and I added a few buttons tied with colorful Bakers Twine from My Craft Spot!

This adorable Jellyfish guy was cut from Once Upon A Princess (are you wondering where the jellyfish is on that cart???).  It is a cupcake top that my Oldest E stretched with the gypsy, cut, added some google eyes and drew a cute little face on him!

We added some Pink Sorbet Bakers Twine and I tacked it down in the swirly design with Tombo Multipurpose Liquid Glue (just little dabs, a small amount goes a long way).

I was a little sad that some of the original chipboard stickers disappeared from my LO.  I am guessing since neither of the girls would confess and/or rat the other out, that they must have been partners in crime!  There was an adorable chipboard crabby here but since I have not found his new hiding spot, I had to use some of the puffy stickers.  Still cute, just not as cute as the original element!

Again, I had a really cute school of fish up in this corner which magically disappeared!  Lesson learned, take a pic immediately upon finishing a LO so my little scavengers do not have time to snatch the goods...hehe!

While we worked on the LO, the girls and I talked about the beach, and they drew me pictures of what they think our All-American Beach Vacation will be like!

We added their pics to the LO until I have the real ones to put on there!  I know it will look a lot better with the real pictures but any Mommy knows that these pictures tell a story just like the real ones will!

OK, so who wants some BLOG CANDY?  Today I have something fun for you!  I have a 30 yard spool of Black Licorice Baker's Twine from My Craft Spot, a set of Imaginisce Splash Dance Rub-Ons, and a Stampin' Up Stamp Set!

  2. You do not need to be a follower, but I would love if you were!
  3. Because I appreciate my awesome friends (aka followers), my followers can have an extra chance to win my candy by adding a second comment letting me know that you are a follower (old and new)!
