Fall & Halloween Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to your last stop on the Fall/Halloween Blog Hop featuring the Thankful Thursday Design Team!   Hopefully you just came from the super talented Gaby at Gaby Creates.  If not, please head on over to see our hop hostess Jenny at Crazy About Cricut so you can start from the beginning!

My 3 E's and I have been working on our goody bags for Halloween so that is what I have to share with you today!  I was so proud of my Oldest E when she said she wanted to give all her Kindergarten friends hand santitizers rather than candy this year.  I think her little goody bags make a nice, useful gift for the season!

She of course chose Hello Kitty as the focus of her goody bags!  The "Too Cute to Spook!" and Candied Orange Crinkle Ribbon are both from My Craft Spot.  I found these black paper bags at ACMoore on clearance last year!  I couldn't make bags for as cheap as I bought them!

Next are the cards Oldest E made to go with her Gift Bags!  Aren't they simple and cute?  She loves this spider stamp!  She used it on her Valentines this year too!

The stamp set and little envelopes are both retired Stampin' Up! items.  The pumpkins are the girls favorite item to make and are super easy!

Start with 8 circles of your desired size (we used our 1 3/4" paper punch), 4 slivers of green and a strip of brown for the stem.

Fold the circles in half and adhere together.  Roll up the brown and the greens.

Once the circles are adhered together slide the stem and vines down the center.

Like I said, my daughters love to make these!

My last goody bag to share is one that I have been waiting all year to make.  I saw these adorable Halloween tags last year on Tammy Skinners Creative Critterz Blog and I couldn't wait to make them this year!  I bought a dozen of these little black buckets after Halloween last year with the intention to use them with these adorable tags this year!  Middle E was excited about them and chose to fill her goody buckets with her favorite candy corn.  I think they turned out pretty cute!

I hope you enjoyed my Halloween Goodies today and I hope you enjoyed the hop!  Jenny has a fabulous prize available at Crazy About Cricut!  The grand prize for this hop is the beautiful Celebrate With Flourish cartridge.
To enter you need to leave a comment on ALL the blogs in this hop.  Jenny will be drawing one lucky winner for that fun prize!

But wait, there is more!  I am offering a super fun set of Halloween Bakers Twine from My Craft Spot

THE BLOG CANDY RULES:
  1. To be eligible for the blog candy, you must leave a comment letting me know what you like best about fall!
  2. You do not need to be a follower!
  3. Because I appreciate my awesome friends and all the support you have shown me through this rough period, my followers may have an extra chance to win my blog candy by adding a second comment letting me know that you are a follower!  New followers are welcome but please know that all my posts for the next few weeks are scheduled, so you will not be getting me live for awhile!
  4. I will randomly draw a winner in 1 week!  You must stop back on Thur October 6 to see if you won!
Thank you for joining Jenny and rest of my Thankful Thursday Teammates for our Fall/Halloween Blog Hop!  Have a Happy Fall Y'all!!

A card for my Cricuting friends inspiration.

Thinking of You Card

Hello everyone!  I have a card to share with you today that I made with a Bugaboo Stamps image.  I made this for my Whimsical Wednesday project for this week, but in light of recent events over the last few weeks, and after speaking to Stephanie, I decided to step down from the Whimsical Wednesday team.   It was a very hard decision, but I would not be able to give the team my full attention.  I miss my WW teammates, and I hope you understand.
I received this fantastic image to use for the challenge this week and I made a few cards for some friends who are nurses.  I know they will LOVE Nurse Margaret - Nice Nurse!!  The challenge this week is "Just Because" - create a card/project to let someone know that you are thinking of them and they are special. Must include either a digital image and or sentiment.   Here is the quick card I made up for them!

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #26 - Criss Cross Birthday Card

Hello Everyone!  Welcome to another Sunday and another fun Birthday Sundaes challenge.   This week our challenge is a Criss Cross Birthday Card and boy have the DT and our Guest Designer come up with some amazing cards this week!  My girls were recently invited to a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party for one of our special little friends so I made this card for her and for your Criss Cross Birthday inspiration!

My other picture didn't turn out so well and I didn't get a chance to re-photograph it, but the back of the Minnie head was stamped with a Happy Birthday Sentiment from My Craft Spot in white ink.   Please join us this week at Birthday Sundaes for our fun Criss Cross Birthday card challenge!  If you have never made one before, there is a wonderful tutorial here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/criss_cross_card/

I'll Be Back

Hello all my friends.  Some of you may have seen that portions of the US were devastated by historic flooding this week.  I live in one of those areas along the Susquehanna River in a town that has been flooded.  Thankfully our home was spared, as the river crested less than 100 yards from our house.  We had enough water pouring into our normally dry and liveable basement to cause a headache but my husband's store was not so fortunate.  The entire store was flooded.  It happened so fast that he, his employees and some of his tenants had no clue what was going on and had to be rescued from the rising waters.  It sits along one of the creeks that spilled its banks in an area that has never ever flooded before.  Roads, bridges and even some houses are gone and washed away.     There is sunshine after the rain and God has showed us his mercy.  Yesterday and today have been sunny/warm despite the forecast for continued rain and we are very, very thankful!  We live in a community that is strong and sticks together in a crisis and we will be back on our feet soon.
This being said, I must take a break from blogging for a short time.  This nightmare compounded with another situation that has been going on with my family is leaving no time for my beloved blog and I feel terrible about not being able to visit some of you over the last few weeks.  It would have been quiet here a few weeks ago had it not been for my DTs and a few of my friend's Blog Hops.  My DT's are so awesome and have been so supportive!  I feel blessed not only to be a part of them but to know these talented and caring ladies!  Also, thank you to FCCB for spotlighting a few of my projects lately!
In the midst of the all the chaos here, I haven't had the chance to share some very exciting news, I have some projects that have been selected for magazine publications!  They'll be published in the beginning of next year!  Without the love and support I receive here, I may have never had the nerve to submit anything so a BIG Thank You to all of you and especially to Kimberly for that!
If you are still reading my mini novel today, I have some DT projects scheduled to post over the next few weeks but I am not going to be working on any new projects.  Thank you to everyone who has continued to stop by and leave your wonderful and uplifting comments and thank you for understanding that my family must come first right now.  I will be back ASAP.  Take care everyone!

Whimsie Doodles Birthday Card

I was late getting my Birthday Sundaes card done this past week but I really wanted to share a Birthday card with you using one of the super cute images from Whimsie Doodles.   Boy did I have problems with this card.  First off, it was late, then I had a Stickles explosion!

Isn't that lovely!  What a treat to clean up!  Not only was it all over my card, gypsy and just about everything on my desk, but it also ended up all over me too!  At least I was able to salvage the card!  It is just a little more glittered than I had originally intended!

This week our Birthday Sundaes challenge is Birthday Card (with a Birthday Sentiment on the card front) and one lucky winner will win a $10 gift certificate to the Whimsie Doodles online store!  Don't forget to stop by Birthday Sundaes to check out the sweet deal Whimsie Doodles  has offered for our Birthday Sundaes Fans and you still have a few more days to play along in our challenge!  Thanks for stopping by today!

My Craft Spot Challenge #24 - Friends are the best!

***Click HERE for Jo's Birthday Blog Hop or scroll down***

It is Monday and time for another fun Monday Challenge at My Craft Spot!  I really love the challenge this week!  The challenge is Friends are the Best and my friends really are the best!  Here is what I made for one of our friends and for your inspiration!

Our garden is full and I am not going to have time to do any canning as I had planned so we decided to give some of our crop to our friends who will use it!  My husband picked some peppers and just threw them in a plastic bag!  Men!!  I had to make a nicer presentation, especially for such great friends who help us out all the time!

I grabbed some retired Stampin' Up! DSP and threw this sweet little tag together.  It is stamped with a sentiment from Sweet Sentiments Set #1 and I traced over the "warm" with a black marker.  Do you get the little pun it entails!!  These peppers are sure to warm there dishes!

I used Marmalade Crinkle Ribbon and Carribean Bakers Twine to tie a bow/attach the tag and finished it off with a button.  I think they'll like it and I'm glad it will be going to some good use!

Please join us this week at My Craft Spot for our Friends are the Best challenge!  Kimberly has a fabulous prize for one lucky winner and you'll want to stop by and see what the DT has come up with this week!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Jo's Birthday Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to Jo's Birthday Blog Hop!   My fabulous friend Jo is celebrating her birthday (yesterday actually) and she wanted to have some fun with a few of her bloggy friends!   If you have come from Jo's blog JoBoogie Stamping, then you are hopping in the right direction.  If you are just stopping by to see me today (thanks) then you'll want to hop over to Jo's Blog to start hopping!  It's a short and sweet hop today with just 8 stops and the theme is "cute & young birthday"!   As soon as I heard "cute & young" I thought Hello Kitty!  Here is my cute card for my dear friend Jo!

I used my Gypsy to make the Hello Kitty holding a heart into this little cutie holding a cupcake.

The cupcake has stickles on the wrapper, Crystal Effects on the cake, Liquid Pearl on the frosting with Tinsel Glitter Sprinkles and Stickles on the cherry!  I added a little necklace to her and a brad for her nose.

Jo LOVES twine and is slowly adding to her collection so I thought a nice selection of it on her card was in order!  There is an assortment of different colors tied into a bow!  I hope you like your card Jo!  It'll be in the mail soon!  Happy Birthday!

Jo's Birthday blog hop will run through Sunday September 11.  You must leave a comment on each of the blogs and follow each blog in order to be eligible for the Grand Prize on Jo's Blog!  When you are done hopping, go back to Jo's Blog and enter your name and blog address/email address into Mr. Linky!  Good Luck everyone!

Thank you for hopping by today and thank you Jo for inviting me to be a part of your celebrations!  I hope your day was fabulous!  Your next stop in the hop is Ashley from Heart Hugs Designs!

Thankful Thursday - Grandparent's Day Challenge

***Click HERE for the Once Upon Paper Blog Hop***

Hello my crafty friends, and welcome to another Thankful Thursday challenge.  This week our challenge is to create something for Grandparent's Day.  This challenge was a little bittersweet because it was me and my little assistant's last project together before she headed off to Kindergarten last Friday!  We made some thank cards for her and her sisters to give to their favorite Grand P's for Granparent's Day which is on Sept 11 (don't get too attached to this one Mammy and Nokomis because she made a few different ones, I don't want to spoil your surprises...hehe)!

I didn't realize that my assistant had stamped everything on shimmer paper until after she did it.  She really like the "sparklies" on it and worked out ok.  I was going to let her do the sewing again on this TT project, but it got out of control before she got too far and Mommy had to take over and try to cover up her spot!  She used my new "Doctor Marci" stamp that I had won at Fantabulous Cricut from In a Scrap Creations!  I thought this adorable stamp was fitting since Oldest E is on a kick right now saying she is going to be an animal doctor when she grows up!  I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color her.  Since we are talking about my assistants, here are some pics from their first day of school (since Mommy has been so preoccupied and hasn't put them up yet)!

Oldest E's First Day of Kindergarten

Middle E's first day of Pre-K

Make sure you stop by Crazy About Cricut to check out the rest of the awesome creations from the Thankful Thursday DT!  There is a fabulous prize for one lucky winner from the challenges this month so grab your little ones and get crafting!  Thanks for stopping by today!
