Cricut 360 DT Call

There is a new challenge blog starting July 1st.  Cricut 360 is a challenge for people all over the world who love their Cricut!  Well, as many of you know, I LOVE MY CRICUT!!  I have been debating all month, should I or shouldn't I submit a project for the Cricut 360 DT call.  Today is the deadline and of course I was like "what is wrong with you Amber...you should"!!   I am thrilled that I managed to whip out a card just in time!
The challenge was to use a bug and the color Lime Green.  Well, of course when I read this, I knew I had to use my favorite bug...CRICUT (especially for a challenge blog named Cricut 360)!

This card is simple but I think it relays my message perfectly!
Products Used:
  • Stampin' Up! Cardstock, Oval Punch, Dimensionals
  • Cricut Decals Cartridge
  • My Pink Stamper Buggy Punnies
  • Spots and Dots Cuttlebug Folder
  • Signo White Gel Pen
  • Journaling Pen
Thank you Sonia and Nana for putting the time into starting this fun, new challenge blog!  I'll have my fingers crossed that my quick card has what it takes to make the team!  Good Luck to everyone who entered the challenge and if I don't make it, I look forward to the fun challenges!   Thanks for stopping by!

Cricut-tastic Award

I am so sorry to say that I am absolutely terrible when it comes to these awards!  I have received this lovely award from 5 of my friends and I am just now posting it.  Sorry ladies!

These very talented friends have shared this award with me and I am asking that you stop by and visit their wonderful blogs!   Let them know I sent you!  A big thank you to Kristie Kreated By Kristie, Traci Cricutjunkie, Jen Jen's Craft Corner, Stephanie Once Upon a Paper, Carol 3 Kids Crop Shop

Now onto the rules: Your blog has been deemed Cricut'Tastic. Wear this badge proudly on your blog and share it with friends. Share this award with 10 people that you think have Cricut'Tastic Blogs. You also have to tell 5 cricut related things about yourself.

1. I am ashamed to say that I have 3 Cricuts, my Expression, Imagine, and my new E2 that my wonderful husband surprised me with for our anniversary last week...thank you B.  I do use them all but I feel shelfish for having so many.  I try to share them with as many of my friends as possible.

2. I don't know how I ever cricuted before my Gypsy.  I couldn't live without it now!

3. I am not sure exactly how many carts I have (because I lend them out to family and friends frequently and don't keep track), but according to my Gypsy I have 51!

4. I think it is impossible to pick a favorite cartridge so why does everyone ask..hehe!

5. I love my blog and the friends I've made from it!  If it weren't for my Cricut, I probably wouldn't be blogging!

I have so many wonderful followers who I truely appreciate!  Thank you for following me on this crazy blogging journey and for all of your encouragement!  This award is for each of you that love your Cricut!

Celebrate the Occasion #16 - School's Out

Hello Everyone!  It's Design Team 2 Day at Celebrate the Occasion and this week we have a fun challenge!  School is out and we are celebrating the occasion!  YAY Summer Vacation!!!  Our challenge for week #16 is School's Out but you must use an apple somewhere in your project!  This couldn't have come at a better time because I needed to make some end of the year awards for the preschool class!  Here is my School's Out with an Apple project!

The background certificate is cut at 8" from Plantin Schoolbook then mounted on black 8.5x11 paper.

The apple on the stack of books comes from Hello Kitty Greetings.

The scissors, crayon, and glue are all from Locker Talk.

I outlined each of the cutouts and popped them up so they stand out on the award.

This special award is for our outstanding Classroom Helper!  I can't believe the school year is over already!  It's amazing to see how much these kids grow at this age and I will miss many of them dearly!

I hope you'll join us this week at Celebrate the Occasion for your chance to win the monthly prize Spring Holiday Cards Cricut Cartridge!  Just a reminder that we are having a blog hop this weekend at CTO!  There will be blog candy to be won at every stop, and I must tell you that I have some delicious goodies for you!  Make sure you hop on over this weekend for our CTO Pool Party Blog Hop!  Thanks for stopping by!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday Guest Designer

Hello everyone!  Welcome to my Guest Designer Project for this week's Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog!  I am so excited to be joining the amazing FCCB Design Team today!  The challenge for this week's Challenge #62 is Remember This!  Make something to remember a special person, time or anniversary.  The second I saw this challenge, my mind immediately went to my Oldest E's Preschool Graduation!  I wanted to make her something special to give to her (besides her scrapbook) to remember her early school days!  Here is what I came up with!
I made a Memory Box to hold a picture book for each school year (Preschool - Fifth Grade)!

I found this box in my Yard Sale junk box!  It had some cards in it which I can still sell but the sturdy box was exactly what I was looking for!

I used Mod-Podge to cover the lid of the box with this fun School Days Paper!

I added little school themed Cricut cuts to all four sides of the box!

I used one of my favorite embellishments, Bakers Twine from My Craft Spot!

All of the Cricut cuts are outlined and popped up...

and I even managed to get my favorite little bookworm on here!  I like to add Crystal Effects to his glasses to make them look more realistic!

Here are the cuts on the ends of the box.

The little school bus with the stamp across the bus was inspired by my very talented friend Kate (I told you I  was going to be borrowing the idea too...hehe)!   Her little bus is much cuter with little kiddos and everything but I really loved the stamped idea!  Thanks Kate!

I used vinyl on the top of the box so that I don't have to worry about the top being torn up when getting store!  i'm sure eventually there will be stuff stacked on top!

I am so proud of myself for even getting all the little books prepared!  There is one for each school year Preschool through 5th grade (that is all the further the paper pad went up too).  Each book has 6 blank pages to add pictures/comments (front and back) so I figured I can get about 12 events in each book!  Her Preschool book is already mostly done (except for a few pics that need printed)!  Most of the pictures include classmates so I can't show you the inside of the book without having to blur out most of it but you get the idea!

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #11 - Masculine Birthday

Hello Everyone!  It's time for another Birthday Sundaes challenge!  No pearls or lace this week!  Our challenge this week is Masculine Birthday Cards!   Here is my simple, Masculine Birthday card!

This card is dear to my heart because my father picked out this bear stamp before he passed away.  It comes from Sutter Stamps and they have wonderful selection of wildlife stamps.

I heat embossed the bear with Black Embossing Powder.  The detail on it is amazing!

The sentiment is from My Craft Spot Sweet Sentiments Set #1.  I couldn't resist adding some sort of embellishment so I added Black Licorice Bakers Twine and a Button!

 Products Used:
  • Stampin' Up! Cardstock, Ink, Embossing Powder
  • Sutter Stamps Bear Stamp
  • My Craft Spot Sweet Sentiments Set #1 stamp
  • My Craft Spot Bakers Twine
  • Button is from my stash
Now I'm sure many of you could use a few Masculine Birthday cards in your stash so I hope you'll be playing along with us this week!  The Birthday Sundaes Design Team has come up with some wonderful inspiration!  Make sure you stop by, show them some love and link up your card!  Thanks for stopping by!

When Life Hands you Lemons Card

Sorry for being MIA this week (if anyone even noticed..hehe).  I knew this week would be crazy busy with the kiddos last week and preschool graduation tomorrow morning.  I was also supposed to have jury duty this week which I was fortunate enough to be excused from!  I don't think they would like me showing up with all three of my kiddos!  Besides a few tornado warnings (which thankfully never produced much more than a few strong gusts), the weather has been beautiful here!  Yesterday I got our pool set up for the girls (they begged me all day Thursday for it) and we have been finishing up cards for their friends at school and for my 6 soccer teams.  Next week I have lots of fun projects to inspire you all!  For now, here is one of the cards that I had set to post a few weeks ago when blogger went crazy.  I had some posts that disappeared and I have been patiently waiting for them to reappear but so far none have.  I'll just keep posting them slowly over the next few weeks!

Products Used:
  • Stampin' Up! Cardstock
  • Savory Lite Cricut Cartridge
  • My Pink Stamper Fruit & Veggie Punnies
  • My Craft Spot Inside & Out #1
  • My Craft Spot Hand Dyed Crinkle Ribbon
  • Stickles
PS...Have you seen the challenge for this week at My Craft Spot?  The challenge is to make a shape card and this is what you could win...
There is still time to enter!!!  Kimberly has also just added a line of brightly colored twine from the Twinery to her store!  YAY...I went a little crazy ordering some!!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Thankful Thursday Challenge Day - Honor Someone

Is everyone ready to grab your kids (or a loved one of any age) and craft this week?  Our new challenge for Thankful Thursday is to Honor Someone Special with a display!  With Memorial Day coming up, I immediately thought Red, White, and Blue and my little assistants agreed we should make something for PopPop (my grandfather)!  His 85th Birthday was this month so I hope he enjoys this special creation my girlies made!  Here is what we came up with!

We found a glass candle plate in our box of Yard Sale junk!  It is junk no more!

The girls went to town on the Cricut cut-outs...

Here is my Oldest E showing Middle E how to use the Gypsy...

Mod Podging the paper down...

They both have fun painting...

Middle E can't wait for it to dry!  We are adding his Navy picture to the plate!

Then we made some cards.  My Oldest E wanted to make them so PopPop can send them to his Navy friends!  I love the way she thinks!

  • Flag paper is from Michael's Open Stock
