Thankful Thursday Challenge Day - Honor Someone

Is everyone ready to grab your kids (or a loved one of any age) and craft this week?  Our new challenge for Thankful Thursday is to Honor Someone Special with a display!  With Memorial Day coming up, I immediately thought Red, White, and Blue and my little assistants agreed we should make something for PopPop (my grandfather)!  His 85th Birthday was this month so I hope he enjoys this special creation my girlies made!  Here is what we came up with!

We found a glass candle plate in our box of Yard Sale junk!  It is junk no more!

The girls went to town on the Cricut cut-outs...

Here is my Oldest E showing Middle E how to use the Gypsy...

Mod Podging the paper down...

They both have fun painting...

Middle E can't wait for it to dry!  We are adding his Navy picture to the plate!

Then we made some cards.  My Oldest E wanted to make them so PopPop can send them to his Navy friends!  I love the way she thinks!

Products Used:
  • Stampin' Up! Cardstock
  • Flag paper is from Michael's Open Stock
  • Stand and Salute Cricut Cartridge
  • My Craft Spot Bakers Twine
  • Lots of Love
Other Challenges:
The Paper Variety Star Studded Challenge

We have an awesome prize this month at Thankful Thursday
It is a Post-it prize pack so make sure you head over to Crazy About Cricut, check out the other wonderful DT projects and link up your Honor Someone Special project!  Don't forget to involve the kiddos or a loved one while crafting and most importantly, have fun!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

What a great way to re-purpose something, the plate came out great and I'm sure your grandfather will appreciate how much love went into decorating it and making the cards :)

It is so incredibly fantastic the way your little girls help you out!! This project is fabulous and I'm sure your PopPop will be overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation. What a great idea with the cards, too. I'm thinking your daughter is just like her mother! I liked your list of products used best of all. :)
