I just realized I never showed everyone the completed invitation for my daughter's 5th Birthday Party.  I played around with a lot of other cards but she just loved this one!  Thank you everyone for your suggestions on this.  I did end up embossing the yellow brick road, added some stiching, sponged it and I added the Emerald City!  I never made it to the LSS that had the Emerald Shimmer Paper so I just free hand cut strips from SU Green Galore, outlined and Stickled them to make the Emerald City!

Rainy Day

I love when the weather turns to warmer days!  We spend our entire day outside which means less house cleaning for Mommy...YEEEAAAHHH!!!  I do tend to miss my dear sweet Cricut over the warmer months.  I look forward to rainy days so I can park the kids in front of a movie and head to my craft area!  This is my tribute to Rainy Days!

Valentine for my Hubby

This is the last Valentine project I am going to post until next year.   It is the card that I made for my Hubby!  If you read my blog, I'm sure you've noticed that I am not into the traditional Red/Pink Valentine this year(unless it is for the kids).  Just a state of mind this year.  I hope by next year my colors will come back!

All the material used on this card are from Stampin' Up!  The Stamp set is Artistic Etchings.  I think I will enter this into  Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays "Love is in the Air" Challenge.  I am starting to have a lot of fun with all these fun places to visit!

I just realized when I was looking at the picture that my cows nose fell off and I do not see it on the floor anywhere. I must not have adhered it...oppsies!   She is still cute, so for tonight (or should I say this morning) I am leaving her go!

Crafty Twilight Mom Challenge

What a fun challenge for Crafty Twilight Mom.  My original submission ended up not happening because I did not have the carts I needed to complete it.  This is my only downfall with my Gypsy.  It shows me too much that I cannot have.  I wish we could just download a single cut when we need them!!  This item is not as creative but it is my Valentines Day Card for my BFF.  She is the one who threw a Twilight Book at me one day and said "you must read it"!!  I looked at it and said "I've got 3 kids and there is no way I have time to read a book that big"!!!  When I finally picked it up (to see what the fuss was about) I didn't put it down until I was done the next morning and then went out that day to buy the other 3 books!! 

I thought using shimmer paper would give it the same look as the cover of the books! The shimmer paper  is from a LSS (background, key, heart) and the red satin ribbon is from Michaels.  You can see my reflection taking the picture in the black background...hehe!!  I hope she doesn't see this on here before I drop it off to her!

Pinkalicious Blog Hop Challenge

I had such a fun time hopping on the Pinkalicious Blog Hop.  My Pink Stamper will be holding it the 2nd Friday of every month!  I'm so excited because this means I have a fun "date" with my Cricut to look forward to every month!  All the Design Team projects were absolutely beautiful!  I cannot even tell you which was my favorite because they were all so wonderful!  At the end, everyone is invited to join the hop so the fun doesn't stop...hehe!!  This months Pinkalicious Blog Hop Challenge is to use black and your favorite color/colors!  My favorite colors are green and black.  In honor of my friend Cricut, whom without, my craft would not be as great, I made Cricut treat bags! 

I loved the way the sparkly black looked with the green but I must apologize to the recipients of these beforehand.  The glitter paper is from Wal-Mart and is not the greatest quality.  It looks nice but it sheds glitter(and I do not like glitter mess).  I am still sending them to two very crafty ladies.  I hope they like them!

I had to use my Imagine and the RGB codes for the Stampin' Up! Green Galore paper because it is retired and I think it is the most perfect Cricut color.  Thank you Provo Craft for the Imagine's ability to do that!!   Well, thank you for stopping by and have fun hopping!!

Birthday Tutu

Today I wanted to share one of my other crafty passions.  Being a house full of little girls, WE LOVE A GOOD TUTU!!  In my first years of Mommyhood, I used to buy tutus for my daughter and they are not cheap.  They were however made very cheaply and never lasted more then a month or two.  Enter child #2, another little girl and I decided I would never pay for a tutu again!  So I bought a bunch of tulle and we now make our own, ones that can get used hard and still stay together.  For Christmas this past year, I made tutus for every little girl on our gift list.  My daughters put special orders in for the new ones they wanted but I kept telling them that we were making them for their friends/family.  They were bummed because they wanted a new one soooooo bad!  I did of course make them each one on Christmas Eve, so they were thrilled Christmas morning to each receive one in their special order colors!  I do not have the pictures of them together in them, but I will post it once I get the pics from my sister. 

Well, tonight we have a Birthday Party for a little girl in one of my daughter's preschool class.  Yesterday when I asked my daughter what she wanted to get her, she said she wanted to make her a tutu!  Despite being very short on time and tulle, I was able to whip this one up for the birthday girl!

 

Of course my oldest had to model it for everyone!  This is my favorite style to make.  I have found that tying off the ends keeps them from fraying and I think it really gives it a pixie look!  I'm not sure if Craft Us Crazy is still running the Anything Goes Challenge but I will try to link this.  I'm off to make a card for the Birthday Girl.  Have a great day! 

Super Quick Valentine's Day Pages

I've spent a lot of time wrapping shoe boxes today but I did take 30 mins to sit down and scrap a few Valentine's Day Pages.

***You cannot see the "Kiss Blow" of stickles too well in this pic but that is ok because I accidentally stuck my arm in it while I was stitching the heart.  My trick for when this happens (because it happens a lot to me), I grab my Pampered Chef Nylon Pan Scraper and scrape it off quick.  It usually works if the stickles havn't dried but it was on the picture this time and left a little bit of a smudge.*** 

These are all last years Valentine's Day Pics.  We are truly blessed to have a wonderfully talented Preschool teacher.  Not only is she wonderful with the children, she is also a photographer!!  She takes pics of the kiddos every holiday, during fun events/field trips and just doing everyday tasks with them!  She is a scrapbookers dream!!  We absolutely love her!  We often joke that if my family keeps having kids, she can keep ME for a pretty long time.  This is our 3rd year there and as it stands right now, I will have a kid enrolled every year until 2016.  She loves all the crafty ideas I bring to the classroom and I love her pictures.  I think I am making out better on the deal because I get a really good excuse to spend the day crafting and I also get really awesome pictures!!  (For my local friends and family-please call me if you are looking for a photographer for any event or family pictures.  She does fabulous work)

Homemade Heart Crayons

I know homemade crayons are nothing new, but we love making them around our house mostly because Mommy has OCD and cannot stand messy, broken crayons!  I don't know what it is, but broken crayons make me cringe.  It is right up there with letting the kids use glitter...EEWWW.  I keep a nice crisp box of crayons hidden for Mommy to color with!  We get rid of the yucky ones by making nice, pretty new ones and what is great about them, they are usually too big for the kids to break!!  We usually make them for the kids at school for most holidays but last week I went in and made them with the kiddos at the preschool.  They had a blast (what kid doesn't love breaking crayons).  The cutest part of it was when we were pulling them out of the molds.  I sat there with the kids all huddled around me and as I pulled each one out and announce the owner of this brand new beauty, the whole group of kids would go "OHHHHH, AHHHHH" together in harmony.  They were thrilled with them!!!!

These ones are going to a few of the girl's special friends. I used My Creative Time Color Me Happy Sentiment as well as Hello Kitty and Create A Critter Cricut Cartridges.  I am entering them into Craft us Crazy's Anything Goes Challenge.

So I know I already posted a picture of this card this week.  I am new to blogging and maybe this is against the rules to post a picture of the same card twice but I just loved how this card turned out soooo much.  Since I really love my cricut, I decided that I needed to make more of them lastnight and use them as my Valentine's!!  Not the traditional Red and Pink but I am sure the recipients of these Valentines will love them!
